Best dressed January

January may be known as a blue month, but for fashion it’s been Christmas all over again!

With the strart of the award season we have some beautiful looks and appearances from the likes of red carpet veterans such as Marion Cotillard and Lea Michele. But also casual looks from the likes of Mirranda Kerr and Rachel Bilson. Aswell as brilliant party looks from Pixie Geldof and Chloe Moretz. And a healthy sprinkle of royalty.

There literally is something for everyone! And please comment with your favourite looks.

Kerry Washington
Producer’s Guild Awards

Kerry Washington has been wearing some amazing dresses on the Django unchained promotional tour. But this look has to be a highlight for me. You literally cannot fault it. I love the hollywood classic black lace marchesa dress with sweetheart neckline. But with the pops of hot pink from the clutch and lipstick the look is given a whole another dimension and makes it completely Kerry’s. Bravo!

Kirsten Dunst
Louis Vuitton
The Art of Elysium’s 6th Annual HEAVEN Gala

I know this look from Kirsten, and infact Miss Dunst’s whole fashion sense, divides opinions. But credit where credit due she was one of the first to wear one of Louis Vuittons gorgeous checked looks. Other celebrtities include Kerry Washington and Miranda Kerr, not bad company at all! And I’m sensing these fabulous dresses will spawn millions of high street copy cats. Perhaps another Stella McCartney ‘optical illusion’ dress is in our midst.

Jessica Alba

I need to see a picture of Jessica having a bad day! It’s just not fair. She looks perfect 100% of the time. She’s totally rocking this ice cool ensemble Alba looks relaxed, refreshing and irresistable. And look at her still totally rocking the ombre trend. Urgh. Perfection

Scarlett Johansson
Dolce & Gabbana
Cat On A Hot Tin Roof opening night

Oh wow Scarlett! I love it when a star opts for a trouser look instead of the tried and tested dress and heels formula. Scartlett completely rocks this black outfit with lashings of red lippy and a gorgeous red manicure. And how amazing does her figure look!

Cate Blanchett
AACTA Awards

For me Cate is one of those actresses who either gets it completely wrong or oh so right on the red carpet. And I think you can guess which this is! I adore the neckline and hemline which makes this dress something so special. Also majour credit to her beauty team who have literally made her glow.

Thandie Newton
Temperley London
BAFTA L.A Tea Party

I’m such a Thandie Newton fan. To me, she is British glamour. So her wearing Temperley London is just the most amazing fashion match ever. Her skin tone matched with this cool ice blue is just stunning. And then the shimmer from the cluch and shoes just tips it over into best dressed territory.

Rose Byrne
I give it a year London premiere

I love the colour of Rose Byrnes Balenciga number. And love the way she has turned this summer frock into a red carpet number by adding a box clutch and statement shoes. I think these accesories just gives, what could have been a flimsy number, more depth and fashion oumph!

Mirranda Kerr

Whatever the weather, country, season, designer or location Miranda Kerr will always look fabulous. She’s just one those celebs who turn every pavement into their catwalk and long may it reign! As gorgeous as the outfit is its those locks and that deep side parting that make this look so beautiful.

Lea Michele
SAG Awards

I am a sucker for loving Lea Michele in absoloutly anything. So I may be slightly impartial. But I think she was in the top 5 best dressed at the sags. I absoloutly adore the colour of this dress. And how her hair and beauty has been kept so simple, it makes the colour pop even more. A really effective red carpet look.

Chloe Moretz
Simone Rocha
People’s Choice Awards

Talking of colour pops! I love this look and think it would be so brilliant for a party. I think Chloe and her stylists are brilliant. She is always dressed so age approiately but in a fashion forward way. A tricky thing to pull off, but she always manages it with such ease

Alesha Dixon
BGT Auditions

I love the colour combination of Alesha’s shoes and pretty pink dress. She looks ladylike but in a modern and sexy way. Love it!

Gemma Arterton
Vivienna Westwood

Gemma Arterton give me your figure! The ultimate curvy pin up girl. Gemma looks like a Hollywood Godess. She was made for Vivienne Westwood dresses and I hope we see a lot more of this fashion combo.

Dita Von Teese

Oh Dita this outfit is just what I needed. She looks like she’s just been skipping in fashion heaven! I love how Dita always creates looks without being too matchy matchy or predictable. This outfit is light and breezy but still manages to pack a punch with the siluoutte, flashes of red and killer sunglasses.

Michelle Dockery
Peter Pilotto
Entertainment Weekly Pre-SAG party

I’m not going to lie, I’ve never been a massive fan of Michelle. She always wears pretty dresses and looks pretty but to me it’s always been a bit, so what? But I was so pleasently suprised when I saw this outfit. I love a bit of Peter Pilotto so that had already won me over, but I love how she created a whole look here rather than just wear a cool dress. The vibrant shoes, the pulled back hair, the ghostly complexion. Just all complement the dress and make it even more beautiful.

Claire Danes
SAG Awards

One of my favourite red carpet looks of January. And I’ve got to say it’s the berry lipstick that makes the look. Just stunning

Rachel Bilson

I love Rachel Bilson’s relaxed looks. As much as I love the likes of Miranda Kerr and Jessica Alba, I can get bored of seeing them dressed to the nines. They should really take note from Rachel. She still looks gorgeous, she’s completely on trend and working her outfit. But there’s something chilled about her look. She doesn’t care what other people think of it, she knows she looks good. And there’s nothing more attractive than that.

Pixie Geldof
Hugo Boss Show Berlin

What a grown up party look from Pixie. I would never have associated her with babydoll pink but she looks so hot. I love the flashes of her character in her manicure and heels. Such a simplistic yet bold ensemble.
